PAGB
Awards for Photographic Merit
Open to all members of Clubs affiliated to the PAGB. They are held for
life, without any annual fee, and holders are entitled to use the designated
letters after their name.
There are three levels:-
Credit of the PAGB (CPAGB)
Applicants must have supported 2 qualifying photographic events for at least
two years in the preceding 10.
The standard is of ‘good club photography’.
10 prints or slides are required. For AV 1 or more sequences (total 10-15 mins)
are required.
The entry fee is £50.
Distinction of the PAGB (DPAGB)
DPAG may be gained without first having CPAGB, but applicants must have
supported 2 qualifying photographic events for at least three years.
The standard is that of 'Open Exhibition Photography'.
15 slides or 15 prints are required. For AV 2 or more sequences (total 15-20
mins).
The entry fee is £60.
Master of the PAGB (MPAGB)
Applicants must have held DPAGB Award for 11 mths and gained a further 10
points in this time.
The standard is that of 'The highest standard of Amateur Photography'.
20 slides or 20 prints are required. For AV 3 or more sequences (total 20-25
mins) are required.
The entry fee is £65.
Adjudication will be carried out by 6 persons selected from the PAGB judges list. Each print and slide will be scored electronically (2 to 5) by each adjudicator but only the total score for each photograph will be announced. Pictures will not be presented as panels but will be mixed and judged as individual images. For CPAGB, a total score of 200 or more will gain the award; for DPAGB a total score of 300 is required and, for MPAGB, a total score of 450 is needed.
