From Silhouette To Space Age. A recorded lecture by
Herbert Jones FRPS, FRSA, PAA, APAGB, illustrating changes in
photography over the decades to the creative techniques of

October 8th
Rhodes On The Run. A slide presentation by Dick
Waters, wildlife photographer, who visits us from North Walsham.
October 15th
First Competition - Assignment Seashore.
October 22nd
A Bumper LPS Evening. Nigel Ryan LPS & Jane Cooper
LPS present prints, slides and a selection of old cameras.
Steven Dillon LPS, prize-winning wildlife photographer and
New World traveller, gives a twin-projector presentation.
October 29th
An Evening Of Widescreen Entertainment. David Hastings
of Salhouse presents 'Beautiful America', 'Up Up And Away'
and 'Winter Paradise'. All taken from the air and presented
on a 14ft screen. Something different and not to be missed.
November 5th
The Norfolk Broads. Ivan West, leading Natural History
photographer from Cley, returns with another slide lecture.

The LPS Grand Auction. Well, not grand at all really!
Just bring and buy as much as you can and enjoy a funny
fun-raising evening.
November 15th [Saturday]
The East Anglian Shield Competition. Come and cheer the
LPS to victory. Held at the Community Centre, Needham Market,
6pm.
November 19th
The LPS Open Evening. A chance for the General Public to
see slides from our exhibition projected in the Lecture
Theatre. Bring as many guests as you can.
November 26th
Gallery. An LPS members' night. Show your work to us -
it could be a project or a short sequence, single pictures,
or something creative. [Entries close for Second
Competition].
December 3rd
Sgt. Peter Jenkins, RAF Coltishall. An evening of ground
and air photography from RAF and RAAF, with a chance to look
at some of the camera equipment used daily by the
photographic section.
December 10th
Second Competition - Assignment Clocks.
December 17th
Christmas Party. The Social Committee are working on a
new format this year. Enjoy an evening of seasonal cheer and
entertainment with fellow members.
January 7th 1998
Knock-Out Competition. A popular evening to start the
New Year. Everyone joins in the judging - bring your own
slides (maximum of ten).
January 14th
Wally Parnell LPS presents an update on the Archive,
together with 'Town and Country', a view of Europe through
less than rose-coloured spectacles.
January 20th [Tuesday]
Three-Way Competition #1. This year our hosts are the
Lowestoft Camera Club. As usual we are joined in battle by
the Great Yarmouth Photographic Society.
January 21st
Brian Collins LCC and David Saunders LCC. An evening of
prints entitled 'Judging The Judges' (both Brian and David
are grade A EAF judges). A light-hearted look at judging with
plenty of advice on technique and with some audience

January 27th [Tuesday]
Three-Way Competition #2. A new venture - this time our
opponents will be Norwich & District Camera Club and
Cheam (Surrey) Camera Club. To be held in Norwich.
January 28th
The Changing Face Of Medical Photography. Madeleine
Borg from James Paget Hospital presents a slide lecture,
which promises to be both different and interesting.
February 4th
Third Competition - Assignment In The Churchyard.
February 11th
A Portrait Of Mankind. Rod MacMillan ARPS comes from
Ipswich. He is a widely-travelled photographer with a
particular interest in portraiture.
February 18th
A Double Whammy. Kennie Glover LPS presents slides on
the theme 'Going To The Chicken Factory' and Bert Marsh LPS,
one of our AV enthusiasts, gives us 'A Dream'.
February 25th
Coast To Coast with E.M. Trendell ARPS. An evening of
AV programmes from the Norwich photographer, which includes
Wainwright's famous Coast To Coast walk.
March 4th
Practical Evening. A do-it-yourself evening. Learn with
friends; just bring along a camera and film, queries and
ideas.
March 11th
PAGB Slide Exhibition 1996. Don't miss the opportunity
to see and discuss the best slides from amateur workers
nation-wide, chosen for the Photographic Alliance of Great
Britain Exhibition. [Entries close for the Fourth
Competition].
March 18th
Another Load Of Old Rubbish from Joan & Graham
James LPS, together with 'Something Rather Better' from Peter
Rump LPS, who will show us colour and b&w prints from his
collection.
March 25th
Fourth Competition - Assignment Water
April 1st
Paul Taverner LPS and Laurence Key LPS. Paul shows us
pictures from his commercial portfolio, while Laurence tells
more travellers' tales. A night of quality and entertainment.
April 8th
An Evening With The Mundesley Photography Group. A
welcome return by this friendly club who will entertain us
with a selection of their work. [Entries close for Print Of

April 15th
On Portraiture by Ian Aldcroft ARPS. A recorded
lecture on the techniques used to produce successful
portraits, plus a contrasting approach by Rory Chisholm FRPS.

Annual Audio Visual Competition for the Louis Casolani
